General Requirements

The app is designed only for mobile phones with Android 7.0 and higher or iOS 11.0 and higher. It can be used on tablets, but full compatibility is not guaranteed. To fully utilize all features of the app, carefully review the user manual.

WiFi Network Requirements

  • 2.4 GHz (with adequate coverage of the vacuuming area)
  • WPA1 and WPA2 security (WPA2 recommended)
  • The vacuum can only be paired and used on one WiFi network (SSID) at a time
  • If you're unsure whether your router meets these requirements, contact your network administrator

Can I use the vacuum without the app?

Yes, a standard remote control is included with the vacuum, allowing you to use it without the app or WiFi connection. However, the app expands and enhances the vacuum’s functionality.

Vacuum Pairing

For the first pairing of the robotic vacuum with your WiFi network, follow the instructions in the app step by step.

Basic Requirements:

  • An active home WiFi network with a strong signal
  • A smart device with the ETA SMART app installed
  • The vacuum battery must be at least 35% charged
  • Turn on the vacuum, open the app, and follow the instructions to create a user account and complete the pairing

How to ensure successful pairing:

  • Use only smart devices with supported Android or iOS versions
  • Use a reliable WiFi router that adequately covers your home with a strong signal
  • Keep your smart device close to the vacuum (within about 2 meters) during pairing

If pairing is unsuccessful, check the following:

  • Ensure the vacuum is within WiFi signal range
  • Only use characters a-z and 0-9 in the WiFi network name (SSID) (avoid special characters like "_, -, *, @, +, - or spaces")
  • If your router supports dual-frequency operation (2.4 and 5 GHz), turn off the 5 GHz network during pairing (you can re-enable it afterward)
  • Some programs (such as VPN or firewall) on your phone may interfere with the vacuum’s communication. Disable them during pairing
  • Make sure the vacuum's battery is at least 35% charged
  • Try pairing with another phone to rule out issues with the current device
  • Create a new account to rule out account activation issues
  • Check that the WiFi network settings and your smart device’s operating system meet the requirements
  • Ensure your phone is connected to the same WiFi network you want to pair the vacuum with (same SSID)
  • If possible, restart the WiFi router

Dual WiFi Network:

  • If your router automatically switches between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies (under one SSID), it may cause pairing issues or disconnections. If this happens, configure the router to broadcast two separate SSID networks, one for 2.4 GHz and one for 5 GHz
  • This setting is typically found in the router’s admin interface. If you’re unable to change it yourself, contact your network administrator or an IT specialist

How to control the vacuum with multiple users:

  • Each user must create their own account in the ETA SMART app
  • The first user to pair their phone with the vacuum becomes the administrator and can set up sharing with other users
  • The administrator should click MORE (pencil icon in the upper-right corner of the main screen) / DEVICE SHARING / ADD SHARING. Then fill in the "Country / Region" and "Account Number" fields

Tips and Troubleshooting

Tips

Why doesn’t the vacuum clean at the scheduled time?

  • The vacuum must be turned on
  • Cleaning must be activated in the app

Troubleshooting

If an error message appears in the app, check the indicated part of the vacuum and clean it according to the user manual.

Possible error messages:

  • FAN (suction failure - requires service)
  • WHEELS
  • BRUSHES
  • FRONT BUMPER
  • SENSORS
  • ETC.

The app freezes or crashes

Restart the app, and if the issue persists, restart your smart device.

The app is unresponsive even though it used to work fine. How to resolve this?

This is likely caused by a change in your phone (e.g., installing new apps, system updates) or on the WiFi network. If you cannot resolve the issue by reverting those changes, uninstall and reinstall the ETA SMART app.

If none of the above steps resolves the issue, and you have ruled out problems with your phone and WiFi network, contact us at info@etasince1943.com.
