Dear Customers,
Thank you for your interest in the ETA MIMI baby monitor. As it is a device with many different features and settings, we strongly recommend thoroughly studying the USER MANUAL of the APP available at this link. This will help you avoid issues with orientation and settings.

General Requirements
The app is designed exclusively for mobile phones with Android 7.0 and higher, and iOS 11.0 and higher. It can be used on tablets as well, but full compatibility is not guaranteed. To fully understand all features and correctly use the app, make sure to carefully read the user manual.
Wi-Fi Requirements
- 2.4 GHz (with sufficient coverage of the area where the monitor will be used)
- WPA1 and WPA2 security (WPA2 recommended)
- The device can only be paired and used on one Wi-Fi network (SSID) at a time.
- If unsure whether your router meets these requirements, please contact your network administrator.
Can the baby monitor be used without the app?
No, the monitor must be used with the ETA SMART app, which offers various features and monitoring options for your baby.
Pairing the Baby Monitor
You can pair the monitor in two different ways:
1) QR Code - the most secure method, where you need to display the QR code generated by the app to the monitor.
2) Automatic - the fastest method, which automatically detects the monitor in pairing mode and connects to it.
For the first pairing with the Wi-Fi network, carefully follow the instructions and steps in the app - a detailed guide to the app is also available in the Downloads section.
Basic Requirements:
- Active home Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz) with a strong signal;
- A smart device with the ETA SMART app installed;
- Turn on the monitor, start the RESET process, open the app, create an account, and follow the instructions for pairing.
How can I ensure successful pairing?
- Use only smart devices with supported versions of Android and iOS.
- Use a quality Wi-Fi router that securely covers your home (or the location of the monitor) with a strong signal.
If something goes wrong during pairing, focus on the following:
- Check if the device is within Wi-Fi signal range;
- The Wi-Fi network name (SSID) should only include characters a-z and 0-9 (avoid special characters like "_", "-", "*", "@", "+", or spaces);
- If your router supports dual-band operation on two frequencies (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), we recommend disabling the 5 GHz band during pairing (you can enable it afterward);
- Some programs (e.g., VPN, firewall) running on your phone may interfere with communication between the monitor and the phone. Disable these programs during pairing;
- Try pairing with another phone to rule out issues with the current phone;
- Try creating a new account to rule out issues with account activation;
- Ensure that your Wi-Fi network settings and smart device's operating system meet the specified requirements;
- Make sure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network (SSID) that you want to pair the monitor with;
- If possible, try restarting the Wi-Fi router;
- If resetting the device doesn’t work and an SD card is inserted, try removing it;
- If one pairing method fails, use the other method.
Dual Wi-Fi Network:
- If you have a smart Wi-Fi router that automatically switches between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (within the same SSID), this may cause pairing issues or disconnections during use. In such cases, we recommend setting up separate SSIDs for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz in the router's admin settings.
- If you cannot change this setting yourself, contact your network administrator or IT specialist for help.
How to share the baby monitor with multiple users:
- Each user must create their own account in the ETA SMART app;
- The first user to pair their phone with the monitor becomes the admin and can share the monitor with other users;
- The admin must click "MORE" (pencil icon on the main screen), then select "DEVICE SHARING" and "ADD SHARING" to share the monitor. Fill in the "Country/Region" and "Account Number" fields.
Tips and Troubleshooting
The app freezes or stops responding.
Restart the app, and if it doesn’t help, restart the monitor and router. Freezing may be caused by various reasons, most commonly related to your internet connection. You can also try switching the video quality from HD to SD.
The app is unresponsive, even though it worked correctly before. How to resolve this?
This issue may be caused by changes in your phone (e.g., installing new apps or system updates) or your Wi-Fi network. If you cannot resolve it by undoing these changes, uninstall and reinstall the ETA SMART app.
Additional tips
- Set a strong password for your Wi-Fi network to protect against hackers. The password should be at least eight characters long and contain a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters and numbers. Avoid special characters like "~!@#$%^*-", as the monitor won’t pair with these;
- A red icon on the main screen indicates that the function is active;
- The monitor can also be used for other purposes, such as monitoring pets or checking property. However, it is intended only for indoor use;
- If you experience transmission issues (e.g., interference or weak signal), try restarting the app and monitor. Ensure the monitor is placed in an area with a strong signal;
- Position the camera to cover the entire area where the baby will be;
- Adjust the motion detection sensitivity according to the size of the room;
- Ensure notifications are allowed and enabled on your phone to avoid missing important alerts;
- Regularly clean the camera lens to maintain a clear picture;
- Place the monitor out of reach of children;
- Use human body detection for specific monitoring;
- Use motion tracking for larger areas;
- Set the camera to focus on a specific area to avoid false alarms;
- Protect the camera from direct sunlight to avoid distorted images;
- Regularly check the privacy mode if you don’t want the camera recording;
- Ensure the monitor is securely attached and not at risk of falling;
- If notifications are delayed, check your internet connection settings;
- Ensure there is sufficient storage capacity on your mobile device for recording backups;
- If you transfer the monitor to someone else along with the SD card containing your recordings, format the SD card first to delete all data. Unformatted data will be accessible to any future owners of the ETA monitor.
