General Requirements
The application is intended for mobile phones with Android 7.0 or higher and iOS 11.0 or higher. To fully utilize all features of the ETA SMART app and understand them correctly, please carefully study the User Manual for the ETA SMART App first.
Wi-Fi Network Requirements
-
2.4 GHz only; the device cannot be paired with a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network!
-
WPA1 and WPA2 security (WPA2 recommended).
-
The device can only be paired with and used on one Wi-Fi network (SSID) at a time.
-
If you are unsure whether your router meets the above requirements, please contact your network administrator.
Can the device be used without the application?
Yes. The app only serves as a smart remote control option. Even without the app, the appliance functions as a fully operational product.
Device Pairing
For the first pairing of the device with the Wi-Fi network, refer to the User Manual for the ETA SMART App, which is available in the “Downloads” section.
Always follow the steps displayed directly in the ETA SMART app.
The app itself offers two methods for completing the pairing process. We recommend enabling Bluetooth, as this allows the app to automatically detect the device and speeds up the process.
Basic requirements:
-
An active home Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz) with a strong signal
-
A smart device with the ETA SMART app installed
-
Turn on the device, launch the app, and follow the instructions to create a user account and complete the pairing
How can I help ensure successful pairing?
-
Use only smart devices running supported versions of Android or iOS
-
Use a high-quality Wi-Fi router that provides strong signal coverage throughout your home
-
Keep your smart device close to the appliance during pairing (within approx. 2 m)
-
Enable Bluetooth (manual pairing is possible without Bluetooth, but the process is easier and faster with it)
If pairing issues occur, focus on the following:
-
Make sure the device is within Wi-Fi signal range
-
Use only characters a-z and 0-9 in your Wi-Fi network name (SSID); avoid accents and characters like "_, -, *, @, +, -" or spaces. The same rules apply to the password
-
Some programs (e.g., VPN, firewalls) on your phone may interfere with communication—disable them during pairing
-
Try pairing with a different phone to rule out issues with the original one
-
Check that your Wi-Fi settings and the smart device’s OS meet the stated requirements
-
Ensure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network (SSID) to which you want to pair the device
-
If possible, try restarting your Wi-Fi router
Dual Wi-Fi Network:
If your home uses an intelligent Wi-Fi router that automatically switches between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz under a single SSID, pairing issues or disconnections may occur.
If these problems arise, we recommend setting the router to broadcast two separate networks (SSIDs): one for 2.4 GHz and one for 5 GHz.
This can usually be configured in the router's admin interface. If you're unable to do this yourself, contact your network administrator or IT specialist.
To allow multiple users to control the device:
-
Each user must create their own account in the ETA SMART app
-
The first user to pair their phone with the device becomes the admin and can share device access with other users
-
The admin has broader control permissions than shared users
-
Detailed steps are described in the app manual
Tips and Troubleshooting
Tips, Notes and Recommendations
- There may be a slight delay between issuing a command in the app and the device responding. Do not tap repeatedly—wait for the command to complete
-
For simple room heating, use manual temperature settings
-
For regular or extended use, we recommend using the calendar schedule feature to specify settings by hour and day
-
You can share the device with other household members using their own ETA SMART accounts
-
For one-time or time-limited heating, use the timer function
-
The display on the appliance or in the app shows the set temperature, not the measured room temperature. The appliance has its own thermostat, but its readings are not displayed
Issues
The app freezes or crashes.
-
Restart the app; if that doesn’t help, restart your smart device
App navigation is choppy or has long response times.
-
Check the strength and stability of your Wi-Fi signal
-
If there are no known server outages on our side, the issue likely lies with your Wi-Fi connection or mobile device
The app no longer responds despite previously working. How to fix this?
-
The issue is likely caused by recent changes on your phone (e.g., app installations, system updates) or changes in your Wi-Fi network
-
If you can’t resolve it by undoing these changes, uninstall and reinstall the ETA SMART app
If none of the above steps solve the problem, and you’ve ruled out issues with your phone or Wi-Fi network, please contact us at: info@etasince1943.com.
