Support for Vital Condition Personal Analytical Scale ETA8779

GENERAL QUESTIONS

The application is intended only for mobile phones with Android (7.0 and newer) and iOS (12.0 and newer) operating systems. It can also be used on tablets, but full compatibility is not guaranteed. To fully utilize all the functions of the application and understand them correctly, please first carefully study the user manual, which can be found HERE.

1) Is the app for the scale free?

Yes, the application is completely free and allows you to save your results to an application account, which will be available to you even after changing your phone.

2) Do I need to have the app downloaded to measure my body values?

Yes, without the application, the scale only allows the basic function of weighing.

3) Which devices is the app compatible with (ANDROID / iOS)?

There are 2 identical versions of the application available, but each for a different type of operating system. One version for Android operating systems, the other for iOS (Apple). Compatibility as of May 2025:
Compatibility as of May 2025:

  • Android 7.0 (and newer)
  • iOS 12.0 (and newer)

4) Can I download the app to my computer?

Primarily, the applications are intended only for iOS and Android operating systems. However, in today's digitized world, there are also various Android emulators that make applications accessible on computers with Windows or macOS. If you have sufficient experience in this area, you can also try the application on your computer using freely available emulators.

5) If I want to use a QR code to download the app, do I need to have a QR code reader app downloaded?

We use the QR code to facilitate installation for everyone who likes to use this modern feature. However, for some older phones, you must have a QR code reader installed (there are many free versions available that can be easily and quickly installed). If using a QR code is not acceptable for you for any reason, use the standard method of downloading the application through the central application stores Google Play / iStore.

With newer phones, you just need to point the classic CAMERA app (or camera) at the QR code.

6) Can I use a “regular” mobile phone if I don’t have a “Smart” device?

No, the application is intended only for so-called “smart” devices. Regular mobile phones cannot work with the application.

7) What do the individual body characteristics mean?

Besides weight, the application also displays many other body characteristics. You can find more information about the individual parameters in the application itself or on many relevant internet sites dedicated to a healthy lifestyle.

However, keep in mind that this data is only indicative and may not be accurate compared to medical methods or professional measuring devices in a higher price category.

8) Do I always have to weigh myself barefoot?

If possible - yes. In some cases, the scale can perform an analysis even without bare feet (if the feet are sufficiently conductive and the material of e.g. socks is not too thick), but we do not recommend this to ensure a reliable analysis.

9) The scale measures different values in different places, what could be the cause?

Different results are usually caused by the type of surface you are weighing on. If you weigh yourself on a carpet (or even soft linoleum), the measurement may be inaccurate. Use the scale only on a hard surface (e.g., tiles in the bathroom) and ideally in the same place.

10) Sometimes I weigh myself after showering and my feet are slightly damp, does this affect the accuracy of the weighing?

If they are only slightly damp, the measurement result will not be significantly affected. However, we warn that damp feet can affect the result. We do not recommend measuring with wet feet. In general, we recommend regular measurement and analysis preferably at the same time of day under comparable conditions (e.g., in the morning about 15 minutes after waking up).

DEVICE PAIRING

11) How do I pair the mobile device with the scale?

Basically, it is sufficient to have:

  1. The scale near the Smart device
  2. The application turned on with the bluetooth function activated (+ GPS in the case of newer Android systems)
  3. Then follow the instructions in the application manual (DOWNLOADS section)

12) What is the maximum distance the phone can be from the scale at the moment of weighing?

The range of bluetooth technology is set to a maximum of 10 m of free space without obstacles. In real operation, you can have it 20 cm away, or even 2 meters away – the connection should be stable without serious complications.

13) How many Smart devices can I pair with the scale?

The ETA BODY BALANCE application allows sharing of paired products with other users of the same application - e.g., with family members, who can then use the same scale. Follow the instructions in the application manual.

APP FUNCTIONS

14) How long a weighing history can the application record? Is it time-limited?

No, the recording of results is not time-limited.

15) Can I share the measured values with my friends?

Yes, you can share the results directly through selected services, or save them to storage and then work with them further.

TROUBLESHOOTING

16) What should I do if I can’t open the application?

Check the internet connection of your Smart device and make sure you have an active internet connection.

17) What should I do if I can’t pair the mobile device with the scale?

Try all the tips listed in the user manual. Try pairing with a different mobile phone.

18) Only the weight is displayed on the Smart device's screen, but the other parameters are not displayed.

This happens when you have already paired the scale with the application and during the weighing itself, the application only receives the weight. Generally, this happens due to an incorrect fat analysis.

Correct procedure and behavior of the scale:

  1. Turn on the application and make sure the devices are paired

  2. Turn on the scale – but do not step on it immediately, but let it “zero out”. After a few seconds, step on the scale and wait for the analysis.

Possible causes of problems:

  • You are not barefoot;
  • Some Smart devices need more time for continuous pairing. It is therefore necessary to first turn on the scale, let it “calibrate” and only after a few seconds step with your feet on the metal strips;
  • Some people may have reduced conductivity of their feet due to biological differences (this is particularly affected by very dry and old skin, and in some cases also dirty feet). Try to measure the analysis on someone else;
  • Make sure your feet are clean and slightly damp (you can use e.g. wet wipes);
  • Make sure there are no interfering devices near the scale and the Smart device (e.g. a TV remote control);
  • A problem with the compatibility of the Smart device;
  • The person exceeds the limits of normal BMI values (i.e., extremely malnourished, or on the contrary, extreme obesity), or is an athlete, in whom the distribution of body parameters is different from the general population.

19) The application is not responding at all, even though it always worked correctly. How to solve this problem?

The situation is probably caused by some change in your Smart device (e.g., installation of applications). Restart the application or the Smart device, or uninstall and reinstall it.

20) Who can I contact if the scale does not work as it should even after following all the recommendations?

If you have not found the answers to your questions here or in the application manual, or you have a problem that you cannot solve even after carefully studying the manual and the FAQ section (questions and answers) directly in the application, contact support at the e-mail address: apps@eta.cz.
